ALBUM ARROW Biography
Davide Gardella began Martial Arts practice in 1978, when eleven years old, with Dayto-Ryu Aiki-Ju Jutsu and fundamentals of Karate. In those times he partecipated to Ju Jutsu and Judo tournaments.
In 1983 he switched to Tae Kwon Do and soon after started competitions.
Between 1986 and 1989, in Olimpic Full-Contact Fighting, he achieved a fifth place at national championship, a gold medal at regionals, five bronzes and a gold at as many international tournaments in Italy and in France, and competes two times at the Paris Opens.
Meanwhile, after receiving the first degree black belt in 1987, he began to lead lessons in his master's gym, later inaugurating a course in 1989.
In 1990 he obtained the second degree and in 1994 the third degree and the office of regional technical director for the Libertas Tae Kwon Do Section. In that period he is asked for several demonstrations and self-defence lessons.
He continued to cultivate his passion working with fellows from other Martial Arts and deepening his culture reading good books on the matter.
To achieve correct informations about Jeet Kune Do he searched exclusively for books reproducing Bruce Lee's original notes.
He introduced in his course sparring with boxing gear allowing head punches and low kicks, forbidden by olimpic Tae Kwon Do rules, and gave up with forms training.
Little by little his approach became more and more influenced by Bruce Lee's insights.
Still he didn't promote his teachings by referring to Jeet Kune Do, until later legitimated by Sifu Ted Wong.
After partecipating to the first Italian Seminars of Sifu Ted Wong in Tourin (ITALY) in 1996, 1997, 1998,
he joined the Third Annual Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do Nucleus Meeting in Seattle in 1999.
There he had the privilege to met Bruce Lee's relatives, friends and students.
He partecipated to the lessons of the original students from Seattle period: Jesse Glover, Taky Kimura, James De Mile; from Oakland: Allen Joe and David Cox; from Los Angeles: Bob Bremer, Steve Golden, Richard Bustillo and Ted Wong.
Some day after he trained with Sifu Ted Wong in Los Angeles.
From 2000 then he continued to take lessons from Sifu Ted Wong in occasion of his seminars in Italy.
